Kefir Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

A quick and easy way to incorporate the health benefits of kefir into a delicious breakfast!

This kefir smoothie bowl is not only visually appealing but also packed with nutrients and flavours that will keep you energised throughout the morning. 

Serves: 1-2 people

Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 240 grams (1 cup) Kerry Kefir
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 70 grams (1/2 cup) frozen blueberries
  • 70 grams (1/2 cup) frozen raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey to taste (you can substitute with maple syrup or agave nectar)
  • Optional toppings: sliced fresh fruits, nuts, seeds (like chia or flax), granola, or coconut flakes

Notes

  • Honey: You can substitute honey with maple syrup, agave nectar or  chicory root syrup.
  • Banana: Try replacing banana with frozen mango 

Method

  1. Blend the Base: In a blender, combine the kefir, banana, frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, and honey. Blend until smooth. The mixture should be thick enough to eat with a spoon; if it’s too thin, you can add more frozen fruit or a handful of ice to thicken it.
  2. Prepare the Toppings: Slice any fresh fruits you like, such as strawberries, kiwi, or banana. Gather your choice of nuts and seeds.
  3. Assemble the Bowl: Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl. Arrange the sliced fruits, nuts, seeds, granola, and coconut flakes on top in an appealing pattern.
  4. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your kefir smoothie bowl right away for the best texture and freshness.
